We would like to say a huge thank you to Maria Jolly and the ladies of the Crafty Workshop in Workington who have recently presented us with £5,000 towards our vital services.

Maria Jolly

Maria who is pictured on the far right, organises bingo nights every other week in The Crafty Workshop in Workington - which attracts over 40 individuals, alongside other various fundraising activities including a charity night in the Trades Hall in Workington and having stalls at local community events. We have received a total of £13,000 from Maria and the ladies since 2021 which is amazing, and we are so grateful for their ongoing support.

Maria said ‘’Raising money for charities is something that we all enjoy, we understand during the current times people don’t have as much to give but the services Hospice at Home West Cumbria provide are vital to our community so we like to help where we can”.

Maria added ‘’ I would like to say a huge thank you to Lesley Edmondson from The Crafty Workshop in Workington, Howard Sandham, W Gourley Pharmacy, Haigh’s Butchers, Carla and Michael Quirk from ETL, my niece Lily McGlasson who is only 7 years old and loves to help out, and every individual and business who has helped and supported the team to raise the funds, we couldn’t have done it without you all.’’

Gemma Bell Income Generation Team Leader for Hospice at Home West Cumbria said “Maria and the ladies are fantastic supporters to Hospice at Home West Cumbria. They dedicate so much time and energy into fundraising and have raised a phenomenal amount over the years and after chatting with Maria, she said they are already planning their fundraising for 2025! Thank you so much for everything you do, you and the team are making a huge difference to people going through the toughest of times in West Cumbria”.
