Payroll Giving is a tax-efficient scheme that allows your employees to donate to us directly from their salary.
What is a Payroll Giving donation?
Payroll Giving is a charitable donation available for all PAYE employees and is taken directly from their pay. This makes it one of the easiest ways to give to Hospice at Home West Cumbria and support local people going through the most difficult times.
The donation will be taken from the employees payroll after National Insurance but before tax every month so we receive more at no extra cost to the employee. This means it costs less to give more.
Benefits of Payroll Giving
It's free to set up
You won't be charged for setting up a Payroll Giving scheme, and there's no need to purchase new payroll software either.
Donations cost less for your employees
Donations are taken after National Insurance but before tax, so the donations are cheaper for your employees. This also helps avoid any Gift Aid administration.
It's simple for employees
Once you've set up your scheme, employees can sign up to donate straight away. Each payday your payroll team takes the donation directly from their gross salary and sends it to your Payroll Giving Agency.
You can support your employees by matching their donations
You can match or boost employee donations with tax-deductible contributions. These are a great incentive for people to sign up and provide additional income for charities. You can also pay the admin fee charged by the Payroll Giving Agency to allow 100% of your employees’ donations to be passed to us.

Creating a Payroll Giving Scheme
Creating a Payroll Giving scheme for your employees is quick and easy. All your employees’ donations are sent directly to a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) who will handle the transfer of funds directly to Hospice at Home West Cumbria, or any other charity they may choose to support.
Payroll giving is a great way to make a regular tax free gift to our hospice. It’s the only way of giving to charity that allows full tax relief on donations, and there are virtually no set-up costs.
