What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to reclaim the basic rate tax you pay as a UK taxpayer.
It means that we can claim 25p of tax for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you. All you need to do is make a Gift Aid declaration.
Who is eligible for Gift Aid?
To be eligible, you must be a UK taxpayer who has paid enough tax during the tax year to cover the amount the charity can reclaim on your donations.
How do I add Gift Aid to my donation?
There are three ways to claim Gift Aid on your donation, you can:
Tick the Gift Aid box on the donation form.
Print or download our Gift Aid form and email it to info@hhwc.org.uk.
Call us on 01900 873173 and make a claim over the phone.
Once completed, please remember to let us know of any changes to your tax status, including changes to your name and address, so we can ensure that no further claims are made against your donations.
What if I donate on behalf of someone else?
You cannot claim Gift Aid on donations you make on behalf of a company or another person.
Can I support more than one charity?
You can directly support as many UK charities as you wish using the scheme so long as:
The total Gift Aid reclaimed by all the charities that you support does not exceed the total tax that you have paid for the year.
