Home Nursing has always been at the heart of Hospice at Home West Cumbria. Our team of dedicated nurses work tirelessly to deliver the best possible care and provide access to the most appropriate support and advice.

What Can We Offer?

The care provided will reflect the needs of the patient and their carers.

We provide respite care as well as end of life care.

Our nurses provide one-to-one support, and they may stay overnight or for an agreed number of hours during the day.

Our Patient Support Volunteers can provide support to patients on a one-to-one basis, in their own home or alternative care setting, providing social contact, friendship, emotional support and respite care for carers.

“Hospice at Home West Cumbria provided such wonderful care for my husband. They enabled him to spend his final days at home with me and our children and supported us through the saddest and most difficult time of our lives. I’ll always appreciate their dedication and sensitivity and the difference they made.”

Where is The Care Provided?

The care is provided in the patient’s own home, a residential care home, nursing home or a community hospital. Many people wish to remain in their own home or close to their family and our home nurses allow them to do this.

“The service we received from hospice at home staff was excellent at all times. I am very grateful for the emotional and practical support received on the night my husband died. It was a great comfort and helped make the passage of death peaceful and bearable for all of us.”
