Hospice at Home West Cumbria teamed up with Milburns Solicitors for our Wills Month back in February.

Their expert will writing teams at their Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport offices very kindly waived the legal fees for a simple singles or couples will in return for a donation to Hospice at Home West Cumbria and we’re delighted to say that £4,985 in donations was raised, exceeding the total raised last year with the same scheme.

Abigail Borrowdale, a director and solicitor specialising in wills said, ‘We were delighted to again support such a worth-while local charity. Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides invaluable support to local people during the most difficult times.’

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Milburns for their continued support and hope to collaborate with them again in the future.

Stella Walsh Community Fundraising Team Lead at Hospice at Home West Cumbria said, ‘We are thrilled with the total from the campaign which is a fantastic amount! We are extremely grateful to Milburns for their support with our Make a Will campaign. Not only does the scheme help people to ensure their wishes are adhered to, but also helps to safeguard the future of palliative and end of life care in our local communities.’

Making a will offers an opportunity to remember a loved one or support a cause close to your heart. Every year we need to raise over £1 million in order to continue to provide our services. A gift in your will can help us do this. Every single gift, no matter how large or small, will make a real difference in ensuring our nurses can continue to care for the West Cumbrian community.
