WE HAVE MOVED!

Hospice at Home West Cumbria has moved its Head Office as part of a plan to offer a more flexible approach to working for office-based staff.

For the last 10 years our Head Office has been based at Cumbria House on Oxford Street in Workington. However, since government guidance was introduced in 2020 advising people to work from home where possible, our staff adapted to a ‘blended’ approach of office-based and remote working.

The large rented offices at Cumbria House are no longer necessary with the new way of working, and so we made the decision to re-locate the Marketing and Income Generation, Business Support and Finance Teams to our Therapy and Information Centre on Finkle Street in Workington.

Julie Monk, CEO for Hospice at Home West Cumbria said: “Our reason for moving to facilitate a more streamlined way of working has also enabled us to save annual costs on rent and other office overheads. We’re excited to move to a more central location in Workington and be working in closer proximity with our service delivery colleagues. We hope members of the public will pop in to see us and learn more about what we do, and share their stories of Hospice at Home West Cumbria.”

We have owned the Therapy and Information Centre building since 2013 which is the base for our Lymphoedema, Complementary Therapy and Family and Bereavement Support Teams, with the Home Nursing Team based in Workington Community Hospital.

Generous funding from The Gannet Foundation has enabled refurbishment works to create a bright and welcoming space, enabling more efficient and cohesive working for colleagues across all teams.  The new town centre location provides a more public-facing presence and gives greater accessibility for supporters, volunteers, and members of the public.
