We are really proud our Dying Matters Week 2018 campaign was long-listed for one of the Hospice UK Awards “The Innovation in Dying Matters Award”.

We wanted to raise awareness of our work as hospice and our services, while also encouraging people to talk about death, dying and bereavement as part of Dying Matters Week awareness raising campaign – a topic which is often seen as a taboo. We understand it is part of the Circle of Life.

We created the event “Sing for Your Local Hospice’ and invited people across West Cumbria to join us singing “Circle of Life” by Elton John – either as part of a hospice choir, in their home or in the community. We also asked people and community groups to record themselves singing and share this with us.  We loved receiving fantastic videos from community groups across West Cumbria singing the Circle of Life by Elton John.

This is the video we made together.

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign…look out for news about our 2019 campaign in the New Year.
