Anne Farrer, Head of Facilities said: “Our Finkle Street Therapy, Resource and Information Centre is a wonderful, peaceful space that is used for our family and bereavement services and lymphoedema treatments. The central meeting room is the main hub for many events and we hold numerous other activities such as bereavement and carers groups; nurse support groups; craft groups and staff and volunteer training sessions. We also present our ‘Welcome to Hospice’ event regularly to introduce anyone – staff, volunteers and representatives from businesses – to the work of Hospice at Home West Cumbria. Until now we have managed all our presentations and training by using an old projector, laptop and a blank wall at the back of the room as the screen!

We are thrilled with the state-of-the-art smart TV with attached computer, funded by the kindness and generosity of the Sellafield Snowball Fund. We cannot express what a difference this will make to all our future activities, saving lots of time and effort and no longer having to struggle with ongoing technical issues. The system has already proved of enormous benefit at our recent health and safety courses, and we will be using the equipment for conference calls and webinars in the future.”

The Sellafield Snowball Fund are long-standing supporters of Hospice at Home West Cumbria and Willie Reid, Chair of the Fund said: “The Snowball welcomes opportunities to strengthen the support services that help West Cumbrians through challenging life experiences. Hospice at Home is a key provider.”
