Seaton U14s football team made the decision to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria, and each player, with their families walked 40 miles each over a week long period.

When asked why they had chosen to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria, Justin, one of the coaches said, We chose you because you have helped so many families in the local area, including some of our families and our friends.

There were sixteen players from the team taking part who walked with parents and younger brothers and sisters. It gave them something to look forward to every day and they knew they were helping a worthy local cause.

They all managed to complete the challenge within a week, with one player walking 20 miles on the last day!”

We asked how they are getting on without seeing their fellow players and being together as a team.  Justin added “They  are missing being together massively, and so are the parents! But the parents are keeping in touch by Whatsapp, and the kids are interacting by Xbox and Playstation.”

Thank you so much to the players and their families for taking on this challenge to support our charity, we are overwhelmed with the support we have received from our community recently.

It’s not too late to donate to their Just Giving page to thank them and support Hospice at Home West Cumbria. Click HERE
