We were delighted when Naomi Le Voi, owner of Lakeland Dog Walker got in touch to let us know about a donation she wanted to make to support our work.

Puppy Play Date Group photoNaomi holds ‘Puppy Play Date’ sessions in Cockermouth and Keswick which provide an opportunity for people to bring their pups to socialise and play with other pups.  Naomi asks for a £2 donation to attend the session, and over the past year has raised over £350

“I started the Puppy Play Dates when my daughter Isabelle was a baby and I wasn’t able to get out and about walking my usual dogs, I love the sessions and have met so many new faces. We don’t charge for the pups to attend but ask for a donation to go to charity instead. I am delighted to hand over £350 to hospice and know that it will support the valuable work they do”

Many thanks to Naomi and to all the puppy owners for their kind donation. Times and Star photographer Tom Kay came along to the cheque presentation and captured these lovely images of the puppies at play.

Naomi and her family have been great supporters of hospice over the years, Naomi ran the Great North Run for us last year raising over £250, her parents donated £400 in 2017 from a competition they ran in their restaurant The Quince & Medlar, and her Grandmother was a supporter of hospice and actually designed the very first hospice logo!

We are also working with Naomi’s Husband Matt, owner of Lakeland Mountain Guides,  to organise a new fundraising trek for September – The Buttermere Horseshoe Challenge.
