From the 20th to the 27th March we are proud to promote National Complementary Therapy week.
Here at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, we have recently introduced Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to our Complementary Therapy service due to the gaining of global popularity this method has earned from being reported as very effective. From the longevity of results achieved and the relative ease of the method, we wanted the people of West Cumbria to have access to this valuable support.
It’s not as odd as it may first seem. In the initial roll out of the technique, client feedback sung a resounding thumbs up. This is hardly surprising: the research speaks for itself.
For more details on how EFT works you can find some great resources and information here HERE .
As EFT is gaining much popularity globally because of its effectiveness, the longevity of results achieved and the relative ease of the method, we wanted to offer the people of West Cumbria this valuable support. Sessions at Hospice at Home West Cumbria are offered to patients, family, carers and the bereaved and involve working with our EFT practitioner, Claire Jenkinson, on a one-to-one basis. The tapping points noted below are gently tapped by the client themselves, while focusing on the issue that is of concern and voicing statements relating to this. This is done under the direction of the EFT practitioner.

Dr Peta Stapleton, a Clinical and Health Psychologist and an Associate Professor of Bond University in Australia has done much to demystify and promote this effective therapeutic tool. Her recent book consolidates this beautifully and is a must read for those of you who wish to delve deeper. She has also delivered an excellent TED talk and has an easy-to-follow tapping guide.
