National Volunteers week takes place 1st – 7th June 2020 and provides us an opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of our amazing volunteers.

Shop volunteers, patient support volunteers, administration volunteers, van driving volunteers, fundraising volunteers…the list of volunteer roles here at Hospice at Home West Cumbria is endless – we would not be able to provide the essential services we do if it wasn’t for our volunteers sharing their skills and experience.

We look forward to seeing them all again when things start to get back to normal.

We asked Norman, one of our fundraising volunteers why he volunteers for Hospice at Home West Cumbria. He said “I am retired and I like to keep active. Hospice at Home West Cumbria is a charity very close to my family, and my wife received some care about 3 years ago. The nursing team were amazing, giving me the chance to get out for shopping, do things in the garden etc. and I knew my wife was well looked after and cared for. It made things much easier for us. I wanted to get involved with the fundraising side of things as the service is invaluable”.
