National Carers Week – 10th – 16th June 2019

Hospice at Home West Cumbria are working with West Cumbria Carers and the Alzheimer’s Society this week to start conversations and “keep carers connected”.

Looking after someone can be tough and some carers find it difficult to take care of their own health and well-being whilst caring for someone they love.  It’s important to stay connected:

  • Connected to friends and family;
  • Connected to local services;
  • Connected to others, including other carers;
  • Connected to your community

This week were are connecting to carers in our community and invite people to come and talk to us.  Our Family and Bereavement Support Worker, Michelle will be on hand to have a chat at Seascale Surgery on Tuesday 11th June, and on Wednesday 12th June, she will be in our Workington “Pop-Up” shop.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 12th June, staff, volunteers and carers from Hospice at Home West Cumbria, West Cumbria Carers and the Alzheimer’s Society will be coming together to create an inspiring poem with the help of The Wordsworth Trust.

If you are a carer, know of someone who is a carer or would like some more information, please get in touch or visit our colleagues websites:
