Michelle Pae has worked on the clinical admin team for Hospice at Home West Cumbria for over 6 years.

Alongside Louise and Julie, she is one of the friendly voices you speak to when you ring the clinical offices at Hospice at Home West Cumbria.  They are a huge support to all the teams, helping co-ordinate the Nursing team visits and facilitating the appointments for Family and Bereavement Support and Lymphoedema care.

Michelle said “I love helping people. Whether that’s arranging support, signposting them to where they need to be referred to or speaking to someone whose loved one is dying; when you get feedback to say you’ve been amazing and so supportive on the end of the phone, it’s absolutely priceless”

During her time at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, Michelle has carried out numerous fundraisers, raising hundreds of pounds for us.

Over the last few weeks alone, Michelle has raised £1,130.50 by encouraging her online followers to buy grid squares with the chance to win £50 (she has done this twice, raising £300), and the rest has been raised by raffling Body Shop and Scentsy gifts.

Michelle said “I held a craft fayre before Christmas which went really well and had pledged to raise £1,000 from an afternoon tea event I’d planned for May, which I’ve unfortunately had to cancel. I decided to go ahead with the online fundraising and was amazed to exceed my target”

Michelle is aiming to reschedule the afternoon tea for a time when lockdown is over and is looking forward to seeing everyone there. More information will be available via our social media outlets and the events page of our website as soon as we have a new date.

Over the years, Michelle has also volunteered at numerous fundraising events including helping at our big events including The Colour Run we held at Muncaster Castle, the Midnight Memory Walks and also at Mini Colour Runs at Orgill Primary School where her children go to school.
