A huge thanks to Maxine Langley who raised £450 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria in memory of her mam, Christine. She set herself a challenge of walking / running 100 miles during October but supported by her husband Garry and close friend Donna, she soon smashed her targets and walked over 150 miles during the challenge.

Maxine said, “Both Donna and I have lost our mams to cancer and we wanted to give something back. For me, I had reached the two year anniversary of my mam’s passing and I wanted to do something special to mark it. Hospice at Home West Cumbria helped our family during our darkest days and supported us when we needed them the most. The love and care my mam was given during her final days was second to none. They really are real life angels and I am proud to have been able to raise money for a fantastic cause. Special thanks to Lyn and Sue, my mam’s nurses, to Garry and Donna for helping me to clock up the miles in all weathers and to everyone who has supported me, both in donations and encouragement. Christine would be very proud.”
