We would like to say a huge well done to Kevin Greenhow, who is currently on his 20th hour of Litter picking, in connection to the Caption Tom’s 100 challenge.

Kevin Greenhow from Workington signed up to complete the Captain Tom 100 Challenge which started in April 2020, on what would have been Captain Toms 101st Birthday.

A challenge which is based on completing an activity around the number 100, Kevin decided to clean up his local community by completing 100 hours of litter picking. Currently, Kevin is 8 weeks into his challenge, where he has completed 20 hours of litter picking, averaging around 2 hours per week.

Kevin said the reason he chose to fundraise for Hospice at Home West Cumbria is because he knows how invaluable the services are to families in the local community, which Kevin and his family were offered during his Mothers illness.

Gemma Bell Fundraising Coordinator for Hospice at Home West Cumbria said “Thanks Kevin for choosing to support us with your Captain Tom 100 challenge, this is a great idea and I am sure the local community appreciate the hours you have been putting in ensuring the local area is clean and tidy. You have raised a brilliant amount so far, and still have 80 hours to go! This is fantastic and we are extremely grateful for your support”.
