The first Hospice Talent Night presented by The Mayor of Workington’s Charity Fund was a great success. Talented performers sang and danced as they competed for a trophy and cash prizes.

The Mayor of Workington, Cllr Barbara Cannon said
“My fellow judges and I were so very impressed by the amazingly talented performers and want to thank everyone for joining us at this fundraising evening. Choosing the top three performers was not an easy job.
I am proud to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria as my chosen charity this year. The event has raised over £1,500 for the hospice which provides invaluable services, caring for patients and their families through difficult times in their lives. The audience were thoroughly entertained by the professional performances throughout fun filled evening. With amazing raffle prizes donated by Washington Square Shopping Centre and Iggesund and a tombola run by Hospice Volunteers a lot of people went home winners!

I would like to thank Michelle Tinnion, who works part time for Hospice as Family and Bereavement Support Worker, for organising the talent night with help from her colleagues and Hospice volunteers. A special thanks to The Carnegie Theatre for all their support with the event.”

Joining the Mayor on the judging panel were Mr Mike Milner, Mr Peter Scott and Mrs Margaret Lambert. Mrs Lambert kindly donated the prize money for the event. The evening was compered by Mr Dave Tinnion.
