This week Hospice at Home West Cumbria, together with 200 hospices across the UK are taking part in an annual awareness campaign which provides the opportunity to raise the profile of hospice care. The theme of this year’s celebrations ‘This Is What It Takes’, aims to change people’s perception of hospice care and highlight the valuable work they do in local communities.
Between 7-13 October we a will be using our social media platforms to profile the teams within the organisation. Each day will highlight ‘This Is What It Takes’ to provide their vital services which include home nursing, Lymphoedema care, complimentary therapy, family and bereavement support, fundraising, retail and volunteering.
Hospice Care Week will also be promoted in Hospice at Home West Cumbria’s shops in Workington, Whitehaven and Cockermouth. Windows will be dressed with bunting and the Workington shop in the towns Finkle Street will have a vibrant window display following the theme of ‘Go Yellow’ for Hospice Care Week.
