Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides a range of services to patients, carers, and their families. Our Family and Bereavement Services can offer support to the whole person – mind, body and spirit. All our services are delivered free of charge.

Our highly qualified staff and volunteers support patients, carers, and families by providing complementary therapies, 1-to-1 sessions and group support. We have separate groups for patients, carers and the bereaved which connect people with similar experiences and provide an opportunity for people to share thoughts, feelings, and coping strategies in a safe and supportive environment.

Our Patient Group meet together every other week for a couple of hours. They tell us “It’s wonderful to have a safe space to chat about how we are feeling and what we’re experiencing. “

The group also invite speakers to visit and teach them new skills. A recent Landscape Painting session, led by Ralph Bell really inspired everyone.

The feedback was that it was an excellent session, even though they had no previous experience, they found it great to be able to express themselves through art and they left with a buzz.

“What a brilliant session I enjoyed the water colouring it was so relaxing and therapeutic. I never ever thought I could paint but now I’ve been out and bought paint, paper and brushes and started painting at home.”

We need to raise over £1 million each year to maintain our services. Your support means we can support those who need us. Thank you.
