Are We Ready for our own deaths, or the deaths of those we care about?  Are We Ready for the practical, the emotional, the spiritual aspects of death?

Dying Matters Awareness week 2019 runs from 13th – 19th May and aims to get people talking about death and bereavement.  For 2019 we are asking the question – Are We Ready?

We can only be ready when we start talking.  Talking about what we want for ourselves, asking loved ones what their wishes are.  Hospice at Home West Cumbria wants to support those conversations.

Getting Your House In Order

As part of Dying Matters Weeks, we are launching the “Getting Your House In Order” booklet that people can use to record their own wishes and practical aspects to help their loved ones be more prepared for their death.

We are also promoting the work of our partners in the community and the beginning of new Death Cafe’s:

  • Tuesday 14th May 10.00am – 11.30am, Wild Zuccini’s Bistro, 17 Station Street, Cockermouth.
  • Wednesday 15th May 10.30am – 12.00pm, Cafe West, King Street, Whitehaven.
