We would like to say a huge thank you to David Curran, 21, from Workington who has raised £500 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria by running 100k throughout the month of February.

David is in the Royal Air Force and spends his time between his home in Workington and his base in Honington.  To make the challenge a little harder for himself, he also wore a 10kg weighted vest while he was running!

David said “Being in the RAF it’s important for me to keep my fitness levels up and because I was spending a lot more time at home due to Covid-19, I decided to set myself a challenge of running 100k throughout February. I wanted to do this in memory of my Granda, John Cunningham, but also to support a local charity”.

“I chose to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria, as when my Mam, Tracy Curran was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, hospice  offered their free support of a complimentary ‘Look Good, Feel Better’ session and this really brightened her spirits, as at the time she was receiving chemotherapy and was having a really rough time. I know the money I’ve raised is going to a good cause and will help Hospice at Home West Cumbria to continue providing their invaluable services in the local community”.

Well done David on completing your challenge and thank you so much for your support.

‘Look Good Feel Better’ sessions help to boost the physical and emotional wellbeing of people living with cancer through free online and (post Covid) face to face Workshops.  For more information please visit https://bit.ly/3qzHFdx
