Each year we have a team of ‘Great North Runners’ who lace up their shoes and pound the pavements in preparation for the UK’s most popular Half Marathon.

Every person in our team has their own personal reasons for supporting Hospice at Home West Cumbria, and we are overwhelmed by the incredible amounts they raise for our cause.

This year our team raised over £6,908  for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

Some runners just keep running- Iain’s Story
Iain Nicholson GNR

Iain Nicholson has been inspired to run further since completing his first Great North Run.

“Having completed the Great North Run in 2017 and having raised vital funds  I decided to continue supporting Hospice at Home West Cumbria this year through my love of running. I decided to push myself a little further, incorporating 2 extra runs as well as The Great North Run again.

My triple challenge comprised the Coniston marathon in June, which was my very first marathon, the Great North Run again in September and Ennerdale 25km in October.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported myself and this amazing charity, the only organisation in West Cumbria providing palliative, end of life and lymphoedema care in patients own homes.”

Thank you Iain and all the runners who spend months preparing for the event and fundraising for us. We think you are amazing.

We have 25 places for 2019 – Sunday 8th September, if you would like to secure a place and support Hospice at Home West Cumbria please contact the Fundraising Team for more information
