13th December - 31st December , 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Each year Hospice at Home West Cumbria holds Light up a Life services across the county for people to come together and remember loved ones who are sadly no longer with us. This year more than ever, we will be thinking of them and the many families who have endured the heartbreak of losing someone in more recent months.

Whilst we are unable to bring the Light up a Life services to our communities in the usual way, we invite you to join this year’s virtual service on Sunday 13th December at 10:00am via our Hospice at Home West Cumbria website. This unique service will include readings, choir performances, moments of reflection, moving prayers and the switching on of the hospice Christmas tree lights to mark the dedications to our loved ones.

Our Light up a Life service is inclusive for everyone, not just those who have received our care. We invite you to remember someone special by leaving a dedication in our online Book of Lights which will be available to view on our website all year round.

Please click here to leave your dedication in our -  Book of Lights

You can also dedicate a light by requesting a dedication form by emailing us at This will be entered into the online Book of Lights and will signify a light on the Christmas tree at the virtual Light up a Life service.

All returned dedication forms will receive a thank you card with a Light up a Life decoration to hang on your Christmas tree or in your home.

The Light up a Life service will be accessible on our website throughout the month of December, so you can watch it again if you wish. We will have a limited number of DVD’s available (for a small donation to cover the postage) for supporters who are unable to access the Light up a Life service on our website. To pre-order your DVD please email
