Light up a Life has been an important part of the hospice calendar for many years. It provides an opportunity for people in our communities to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones who are sadly no longer with us, but are always with us in our thoughts. These services are for everyone to come along and remember their loved one, not just those who have received our care. Our events will take place in the following locations:
Solway Hall (Civic Hall) Whitehaven, CA28 7SH – Sunday 26th November at 3pm (non-religious celebration)
The Light up a Life event at the Solway Hall will include poems, choir performances and moments of reflection. Candles will be available for a donation to light during the service in memory of all the loved ones who have had a light dedicated in their memory. There will be a remembrance video featuring loved ones displayed at this event.
St George's Church, Millom, LA18 4JE – Sunday 3rd December at 3pm
The Light up a Life service at St George's Church will include readings, choir performances, moments of reflection and moving prayers. The lights on the hospice Christmas tree will be switched on during the service in memory of all the loved ones who have had a light dedicated in their memory.
