Luke Henley, of Whitehaven, yesterday handed over the £3,238 he raised from his challenge to Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
The 26-year-old, who lives as Ash Grove, had been growing his prided hairstyle which included 45 dreadlocks, for eight years.
And when he faced the chop, he performed it in front of an audience at a head shaving party held at Whitehaven RUFC.
Deana Grills, the hospice’s marketing and media coordinator, said: “On behalf of everyone at Hospice at Home West Cumbria I would like to say a huge big thank you to Luke for choosing us to benefit from the fantastic amount he raised through bravely shaving off his dreadlocks.
