Hospice at Home West Cumbria has received a cheque from The Cumberland for £5,376.73 thanks to its generous savers who hold affinity accounts with the Society in support of the charitable organisation.
The money was raised through the Society’s affinity savings account for hospices which sees the Cumberland distribute 1% of the average total balance of all accounts for the past year to local hospices. The money raised will assist the hospices to provide help and support for those with terminal or life-limiting conditions.
Lewis Benson, Branch Manager of the Workington branches of The Cumberland said: “We’re delighted to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria as it provides such an important service for many during their time of need.”
“The affinity account is a great way for anyone to help raise much needed funds and it couldn’t be easier – simply ask at your local Cumberland branch.”
Linda Hewitt, from Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “We would like to thank The Cumberland and its savers for choosing to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria. This donation will help us continue our valuable work in providing palliative care for people with incurable or life-limiting illnesses, enabling them and their carers to live life as fully and independently as possible.”
