Join our ‘Moonlight Memories Walk’ and support Hospice at Home West Cumbria

Throughout 2017, Hospice at Home West Cumbria (HHWC) is celebrating 30 years of caring in the local community, to mark this fantastic milestone there are a number of events planned to bring the public together to support the services the hospice provide.

The Moonlight Memories Walk is just one of the events planned by the charity. On Friday 6th October 2017 follow the call of DJ Robbie Dee from CFM Radio Roadshow and join hundreds of people on an incredible night time stroll.

The walk will follow a 6 mile well-lit paved route round the streets of Whitehaven, starting and finishing at the Tesco supermarket car park. To enter register at www.hospiceathomewestcumbria.org.uk or pick up a leaflet from any hospice fundraising shops located in Workington, Whitehaven and Cockermouth. For more information call 01900 873173.

There will be a variety of entertainment from 7pm in Tesco’s car park including a fun warm-up session by the Xtreme Fitness Team to get you ready for the walk at 10.00pm.

Entry is £15 per person and is open to everyone 14 years and over. All entrants will receive a goody bag containing a special walk t-shirt, a drink and snack, a rain poncho and a glow necklace. At the end of the walk everyone will receive a medal to commemorate the event.

The theme this year is 80’s, so why not add to your experience by dressing up and make this a night to remember! There will be a number of prizes available on the night for the best 80’s themed costume, best dressed group and best decorated t-shirts.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria relies on the support of the wonderful community to fundraise for us and take part in our events, so that we can meet the £1 million we need each year to run our services. By taking part in the Moonlight Memories Walk and raising sponsorship money, you will help HHWC to continue to provide high quality palliative and end of life care to people living in West Cumbria.

Many of the fabulous supporters walk in memory of a loved one or because the hospice has supported them personally, while others take part for a fun night out and to raise money for their local hospice.

Along the route there will be an opportunity for those walking in memory of a loved one to have a quiet moment to attach a personal message on a special memory board located on Whitehaven Harbour.

The Moonlight Memories Walk would not be possible if it was not for the generous support of our sponsors. We are extremely grateful to Morgan Sindall and Coombe & Sharpe Landscaping – for their help in making the event possible!
