As the sun was shining down on the Lorton valley over 90 runners took to this short but challenging course. It wasn’t long before our first runner Mark Bensonwas coming down the home stretch in an amazing 16 minutes 51 seconds, shortly followed by our first lady Sam Ayers with an impressive finish of 20 minutes 40 seconds .
Congratulations to all who took part, especially our juniors Olivia Fearon, Henry Sandelands and Thomas Hinde and our oldest runner Jim Pickthall at 76, all finishing strong.
It was with the support and guidance of Sam Ayers of BodyFit Cumbria that we were able to host this event and we would like to say a huge thank you for her continued support.
Thanks also to Paddle School Eaglesfield for their hospitality and allowing us to use their facilities, Newbalance for sponsoring the event, to all the marshals, volunteers and time keepers who all gave their time and energy so that you could all compete in the race. Without this support we could not hold events such as this.
