£30 for 30 Challenge 2017

2017 – This year Hospice at Home West Cumbria marks 30 years of providing end-of-life care for the people of West Cumbria. We want to recognise this achievement by engaging with businesses and asking them to celebrate and support our work by taking on an enterprising Challenge!

PR – Fabulous £30 for 30 Fundraising Challenge!

Our first £30 for 30 Challenge was a HUGE success raising a massive £12,916.70 to support people affected by a life-limiting illnesses in West Cumbria.

27 teams received their £30 stake from our sponsors Sealy UK and were tasked with making as much money as possible over 3 months as long as it was safe and legal!

Anyone could take part and we had teams of accountants and solicitors, engineering companies, student groups, community groups and various large and small businesses who undertook a wide range of different fundraising activities from raffles and quizzes to car boot sales, cake sales and tournaments.

Towards the end of September, two presentation evenings were held at our Therapy, Resource and Information Centre to say thank you to all the teams who took part.

Teresa McCall, Volunteer Co-ordinator for HHWC said, “We are so grateful to all the teams who took part in our £30 for 30 Challenge which was great fun. We really enjoyed meeting everyone at the presentation evenings where we were able to personally thank participants for their fantastic contribution. We are so proud of them all raising an outstanding £12,916.70 between them. Well done!!.”

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Sealy UK for sponsoring the event by supplying all of the £30 stake money for all of the teams and taking part in the challenge. We would also like to say a big thank you to Haighs Workington for their kind donation.

We really do appreciate your support and the funds raised will help us continue to give patients with life-limiting illnesses the choice to remain in their own homes close to loved ones.
